BEIJING, JAN 10 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Shenyang Electric Power Supply Co. has been employing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) inspection for nearly three years as one of its efforts to build a "new electricity system" in northeast China’s Liaoning Province .
By the end of 2024, the power grid company has completed the UAV route planning of all urban power distribution network lines, including 824 inspection routes with a length of 4,350.48 kilometers. It has carried out 4080.75 kilometers of UAV autonomous inspection tasks as of 2024.
It is planning to expand the inspection routs to county areas, and will finish route planning in 2025, said an official with the company. (Edited by Liang Hengwei, lianghengwei@xinhua.org)
