BEIJING, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- An electric power planning and research center has been unveiled in north China's Tianjin Municipality recently.
Operated by the Economic Research Institute of State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company, the center will carry out research on development strategy, policy and planning of electric power industry, research and promotion of new electric technologies and collection and analysis of electric information.
The center aims to play the role of a think-tank for the city's electric power development by setting up a mechanism of thematic research, designated tasks and regular expert meetings.
The center will make overall plans and top-level design for the city's new electric power system next year. In this process, it will attach great importance to new energy planning and conduct in-depth analysis of power demand, to improve safety and stability of power supply, especially in emergency scenarios, and provide more support for the city's policy-making, said the head of the center.
