BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- From concrete data to factual cases, China's green development stories not only factored in its staunch determination for green transition, but also pooled more green vitality for global green development in 2024.
Speedy development of low-carbon economy, faster green transformation in manufacturing sectors, global sales of homemade electric vehicles (EV), better ecology and environment, ongoing actions for tackling climate changes and proactive participation in global green industries cooperation......all of these green development stories of China are being presented to the world by media.

-- Green growth drivers add more vitality to the world
In 2024, China's green development stories have been renewed on and on, with the green industries represented by EV, lithium battery and solar cell keeping their rapid growth paces, gross installed capacity of China's wind and solar power surging and manufacturing sectors shifting towards a greener mode of development.
For instance, EVs from China took a 76 percent share in global EV market in October 2024, reported the Guardian in the UK, saying global EV sales were mainly contributed by China, the European Union and the United States.

In general, the "going global" tours of EVs from China are injecting more green impetuses to overseas market. According to a report of Latin America News Agency, Chinese new energy vehicle producers are entering a new development stage in the Latin American market as they, apart from fulfilling orders, have started to build industrial chains or factories there.
Due to the relatively low prices and premium quality, EVs made by homegrown brands or foreign brands in China are reshaping the auto market landscape in Africa, said an article of an Egyptian newspaper.
China's burgeoning green energy industry also caught attention abroad. As reports on website of RIA Novosti told, installed capacity of China's solar and wind power amounted to 1.206 billion kW in July 2024, a level that was once expected to reach by 2030 as new wind and solar power generation devices were put into operation.
Apart from these, green development paces have accelerated for China's manufacturing industries and in key sectors, energy saving and carbon reduction related work is in constant progress.
In boosting low-carbon economy, China has made remarkable achievements and this is a story about the "real economy", held Li Shuo, director of China Climate Hub at the Asia Society Policy Institute.
-- Sustainable development enables greener China
In Tanwei Mangrove Park in east China's coastal city of Xiamen, lush greenery comprising of nearly 85 hectares of planted mangrove forest corresponds to the fact that China remains one of the few countries with net increases in mangrove forest areas as figure of the kind has expanded to 29,200 hectares.
Similar green development stories are occurring in many other places in China, including China's palpable anti-desertification outcomes.
Valerie Hickey, global director for environment at the World Bank, deemed that when many nations still fretted about drought, desertification and soil degradation, China Pavilion during the COP16 in Riyadh showcased many success stories.
In the pavilion, there were stories about not only ecology restoration, but also practices that could be replicated by other countries such as creating jobs through reversing desertification to boost the economy.
In a word, China's ecology protection efforts aroused global attention. Through scientific analysis and model simulation, China's policies and actions on ecology restoration and environmental protection and these policies' positive impacts on global carbon balance and climate changes were highlighted in an article publicized on Nature, the world's leading multidisciplinary science journal.

All of these are inseparable from the overall planning by Chinese regulators. In July 2024, China issued a document proposing to focus on constructing a beautiful China via expediting green transition, enriching ecological and environmental governance systems, and advancing green and low carbon development. Later in August, another document that details systemic arrangements for all-around green transition was released in China.
Since the 1990s, China has been pressing ahead with innovative ecological civilization policies, which improve all the time thanks to implementation of multiple five-year plans, resulting in its arising as a front-runner in multiple fields, reported L'Express, a French news magazine citing a French economist.
-- Broader circle of friends joining green industries cooperation
In 2024, China welcomed a broader circle of friends in green industries cooperation, which bore witness to fruitful results in combating climate changes and promoting energy transformation and green technologies.
For instance, China is one of the important greenfield investment sources for Saudi Arabia and about one third of such investment from 2021 to October 2024 flew to clean technology-related sectors such as battery, PV and wind power, showed data with fDi Markets, a comprehensive greenfield FDI tracking database.
In recent years, Chinese companies' investment in Latin America also shifted more obviously to green and environmental friendly sectors. Alongside development of prioritized industries such as battery, solar cell and EV, renewable energy development and construction of EV factories by Chinese firms began to outpace large infrastructure and petroleum exploiting programs there.
Moreover, China has taken an active part in global carbon emission reduction actions and continued to extend the South-South cooperation on climate change.

By October 2024, China already inked 53 memorandums of understanding on South-South cooperation on climate change with 42 developing countries. By conducting nearly 100 programs on mitigating and adapting to climate changes, China helped the least developing countries, African countries and other island countries improve their capabilities to cope with climate changes and contribute to combating global climate changes.
For Africa, the Sino-African relationship based on win-win cooperation and sharing achievements of modernization laid a solid foundation for the green economic transition of African countries.
At a time when the world faces unprecedented ecological crisis, China's green governance solutions served as a shining beacon of hope and depicted at the same time promising prospects for others, said experts.
