BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) has been a pivotal platform for bolstering Sino-UK economic and trade cooperation, said Li Peng, counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in the UK on December 13.
Li made the remarks at the first overseas promotion event of the 2025 CIFTIS held in London, welcoming the UK government and businesses to well leverage CIFTIS to benefit from China's development and share opportunities brought by the Chinese market.

Organized by Beijing International Trade in Services Center and supported by its partners at home and abroad, the London promotion event gathered more than 60 experts and business representatives from institutions and enterprises.
For years, China has held the CIFTIS to share its services trade development chances with all parties and make new contributions to global trade, said Li Zhongshuang, an inspector of Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, highlighting that the 2025 CIFTIS will offer quality services for global exhibitors including UK businesses to showcase their latest technologies, products, achievements and applications in services trade.

As a veteran participant of CIFTIS, Bank of China (BOC) intended to take advantage of its global layout and financial strengths to deepen its participation in 2025 CIFTIS and provide all-around support to related deals matching, recommendations and roadshows, noted Xia Bin, deputy head of BOC London branch.

Nick Charles, head of Membership and Community Relationships of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) expressed willingness of the chamber, which boasts 8,500 local members, to establish new business connections and reach new cooperation deals via the CIFTIS in future.

Optimistic about the Sino-UK cooperation prospects in financial sector, Charles Bowman, the 690th Lord Mayor of the City of London, believed that development of London's financial sector is highly in line with what the thematic exhibitions of CIFTIS advocate.
Under such circumstances, Charles Bowman vowed to strive to press ahead with related communication and cooperation in the sector, reiterating the promises of the City of London to its global partners and stressing the function of financial services and technology innovation in fostering sustainable economic development.

Other experts also shared their gains from participating in the CIFTIS during the London promotion event. Following the London roadshow, the second overseas promotion event for the 2025 CIFTIS will be held in Bern of Switzerland.
