BEIJING, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The voltage sag control device developed independently by State Grid Changji Power Supply Company has been applied recently for the first time in the 220-kilovolt Changji substation in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which is also the first time for the application of the device nationwide.
In recent years, with the development of the power grid system, voltage sag events have occurred frequently. If the voltage sag lasts for too long, it will cause the power equipment to shut down abnormally, affecting the normal continuous power consumption of the user side.
To solve the problem, State Grid Changji Power Supply Company has established a technological innovation team and within nine months, developed the voltage sag control device which can achieve rapid detection and isolation of fault currents, solving voltage sag within 20 milliseconds.
The device will reduce manpower and material resources investment in solving voltage sag, as well as load loss, and improve the intelligent operation of the distribution network. It is expected to generate economic benefits of nearly 1 million yuan annually.
