BEIJING, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Corporation of China (State Grid) held a cloud open day event on November 7, featuring a main venue in Dehua County in southeast China's Fujian Province, and parallel venues in Brazil and Chile.
With the theme of "Blanc de Chine Renewed by Green Electricity", the event fostered cultural exchange and mutual learning among China, Brazil, and Chile, connecting the traditional handicrafts of the white porcelain of China, the woodcarving of Brazil, and the ceramics of Chile.
Over 200 Chinese and foreign employees of State Grid, including those of State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd., State Grid Brazil Holding S.A., CPFL Energia S.A., Chilquinta Energía, and Compañía General de Electricidad (CGE), attended the event online or offline.
Via video link, the event vividly introduced Dehua's porcelain firing technique, one of China's first intangible cultural heritages. Meanwhile, it showcased how Dehua, the home of ceramics in the world, has revitalized its ceramic industry through the use of clean electricity, and how State Grid has blazed a new path to the shared development of the power grid and ecological civilization through unrelenting efforts.
Moreover, State Grid has held the State Grid-South America cloud open day event for four consecutive years since 2021, bringing traditional Chinese cultural heritages, such as Peking Opera, tea art, and ceramics to its foreign employees and their families in Brazil and Chile, as well as local people and media outlets, and conveying the good wishes of Chinese enterprises to work with their overseas counterparts for win-win cooperation.
State Grid currently operates and invests in 13 energy network projects across 10 countries and regions. Beyond business, State Grid is deeply involved in local public welfare activities. Its non-profit projects such as the Brazilian Malé symphony orchestra, brackish water desalination, and CPFL youth growth, have been recognized by the United Nations as exemplary models of sustainable development and effective poverty reduction.
