BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Over 30 foreign media representatives from Latin American countries including Panama, Bolivia, and Cuba recently toured Wuyi County in east China's Zhejiang Province to see the natural beauty of the county as well as explore its technological innovation and industrial development.
Featuring hot springs resorts, Danxia landform adventure, and eco-cultural experiences, Wuyi has established itself as a wellness tourism destination and a distinctive hot spring wellness tourism brand.
At Huatian Meidi, a scenic spot in Wangzhai Town of Wuyi County, which has become a model for rural revitalization and common prosperity, foreign media representatives enjoyed a picturesque countryside tour on a sightseeing train.
In addition, guided by the local government, the Wuyi County Museum has opened a special exhibition hall displaying Xu Weili's documents, the most complete paper records from the Song Dynasty ever found in China.
Moreover, Wuyi's unique geography, environment and climate also contribute to its remarkable traditional Chinese medicinal herbs.
At the biological breeding innovation center of Zhejiang Shouxiangu Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd., staff briefed the foreign media representatives on a multi-purpose laboratory that integrates basic research with technological innovation. The company has been committed to the research and production of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, using technology to empower agriculture.
The development of Shouxiangu is a epitome of enterprises in Wuyi making great efforts in scientific innovation. In the first half of 2024, the growth in high-tech industrial investment of Wuyi county topped the provincial average by 55.2 percentage points, and the growth in fixed-asset investment exceeded national avearge by 17.4 percentage points.
The foreign media team also visited the Wuyi Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Research Institute, jointly built by Wuyi County and the Shanghai Second Polytechnic University. They saw a fully automated gearbox assembly line operated by five robotic arms, exemplifying China's advancements in unmanned and intelligent production.
