BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- In the 126 towns across Linyi, a densely populated city in east China's Shandong Province, the convenient public electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities that well integrate into local transport system greatly boosted the green travel of local people.
Year to date, 446 public EV charging stations have been put into operation in the city by Linyi Power Supply Company, a citywide grid operator, and 1,747 AC and DC charging piles are also in place to form a high-quality EV charging service circle there.
With the town-level public EV charging stations as concrete service outlets, these charging piles whose average output power exceeds 60-plus kW have supplied 209 million kWh of electricity for public EVs in the city.
All of these are partially attributable to the meticulous planning and accelerated grid renovation of Linyi Power Supply Company, which spared no effort in crafting the smart, convenient and safe charging infrastructure in Linyi so as to facilitate local people's green and low-carbon travelling.
Recent days, a new public EV charging station was connected to the grid for operation in Quanli Town of Yishui County in Linyi where all its 126 towns hence boast public DC charging stations for EVs.
In the future, Linyi Power Supply Company, a local arm of State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company, plans to further optimize local public charging facilities network and promote shared charging through charging piles in residential areas and commercial complexes to better facilitate EV-based green travel there.
