BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Overseas institutional investors continued to add their bond holdings in August, with their total holdings up to 4.56 trillion yuan, reported Xinhua Finance citing data released by the Chinese central bank recently.
By August 31, overseas institutions' bond holdings took up 2.7 percent of the aggregate outstanding bonds on China's bond market.
Their holdings on the interbank bond market were 4.52 trillion yuan, including 2.28 trillion yuan of T-bonds, 1.12 trillion yuan of interbank certificates of deposit (CDs), and 0.95 trillion yuan of policy bank bonds, etc.
By the end of August, gross outstanding bonds on China's bond market reached 167.9 trillion yuan.
