BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- A green electricity and green certificate service station, the first of its kind in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has been officially put into operation recently.
Run by State Grid Changji Power Supply Company, the service station, as an important initiative to promote the consumption of new energy and push forward the green and low-carbon transformation and development, builds up a green bridge among power trading institutions, energy-consuming enterprises and government departments, which is conducive to expanding the scale of the green electricity and green certificate market and assisting enterprises in green energy-saving transformation.
Green electricity trading is a new trading variety in the electricity market. Buyers of green electricity can obtain a green certificate as proof. Green certificates are electronic certificates with special identification codes. One green certificate unit is equivalent to 1,000 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy.
It is learned that the service station is customer-oriented and can provide convenient services, including policy consultation on green electricity and green certificates, information collection, trading guidance, market information acquisition and power trading training.
Since the beginning of this year, State Grid Changji Power Supply Company has been actively promoting green energy transformation in Changji. So far, a total of 246 million kWh of green electricity have been supplied locally, and 640,000 green certificates have been issued. (Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
