BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- More than 30 news officials and media representatives from Latin American countries including Cuba, Uruguay, Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Honduras, Bolivia, Colombia and Costa Rica paid a visit to Xiaoshan District in Hangzhou of east China's Zhejiang Province from September 21 to 22 to learn about the rich local historical culture and thriving technological innovation.

Their first stop was the Xianghu Lake and the Kuahuqiao Site Museum. As the "sister lake" of the West Lake in Hangzhou, the Xianghu Lake is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization.
It is a great opportunity to learn about Chinese culture by experiencing the cultural landscape of the Xianghu Lake firsthand, said a Cuban journalist.

In the Kuahuqiao Site Museum, there is a canoe with a history of about 8,000 years, and it is so far the oldest canoe discovered in China. The Kuahuqiao Site underwent three archaeological excavations respectively in 1990, 2001, and 2002, and was listed as one of China's "Top Ten Archaeological Discoveries of 2001". The discovery of the Site has opened a new chapter in the history of human civilization in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the southeastern coastal areas.
The 8,000-year civilization history of Xiaoshan can be felt through the Kuahuqiao culture which is impressive, said a Colombian news official.
The group visited the Vision Valley of China in Xiaoshan on September 22, immersing themselves in innovative technologies such as industrial vision, visual intelligence, smart healthcare, etc. in the 600-square-meter exhibition hall.

The group then visited the Xiaoshan District Convergence Media Center to deeply learn about the media technology of Xiaoshan.

Their last stop was the Turing Town, a computer technology and artificial intelligence industrial agglomeration zone where they experienced the smart life immersive cinema, the digital roaming area, and other interactive scenarios.
