BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- State Grid Henan Electric Power Company said it recently received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) for its electrical new material research. It's the third consecutive year for the grid company to secure NSFC funding.
The funding the company received is under youth category, which aims to encourage young talent to take in charge of research and innovation projects. In 2024, the number of projects which applied for NSFC funding rose by 24.63 percent, and only 13 percent of the projects received awards.
In recent years, State Grid Henan Electric Power Company has invested its innovation and research resources in key projects which help overcome significant challenges in the development of power grids. It also engages in national projects funded by National Science and Technology Major Projects, National Key Research and Development Programs, and the NSFC, with focus on fundamental researches, such as power quality sensing and coordinated control technology, distributed intelligent energy systems, electrical new materials, advanced sensing technology, and power grid cybersecurity.
The grid company will leverage the technological prowess of its research institutions to achieve groundbreaking original innovations, and support the high-quality development of power grids, said a staff with the grid company.
