BEIJING, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Fu Hua, president of Xinhua News Agency, met with General Director Vu Viet Trang of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in Beijing on Tuesday.
Fu said that enjoying a friendship of comrades and brothers, the two news agencies have signed a new cooperation agreement witnessed by the leaders of the two parties and countries.
Xinhua is willing to work with the Vietnam News Agency to further implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and countries, expand exchanges and cooperation in news reporting and other fields, jointly tell stories of China-Vietnam friendship, and actively serve the building of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, Fu said.
Fu welcomed VNA to actively participate in exchanges under the framework of the World Media Summit, and expressed the hope that both sides will learn from each other so as to develop together.
Hailing Xinhua's reputation in Vietnam, Trang said the two organizations have long maintained friendly and cooperative relations. He expressed the hope to deepen cooperation with Xinhua on strengthening the mainstream public opinion of Vietnam-China friendship and building all-media organizations, and advance bilateral relations.
