August 12, 2024

Abstract : Manas Power Supply Company of State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. has invested nearly 10 million yuan to insulate the bare wire power supply lines around the Manas National Wetland Park in Manas County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, so as to provide a safe home for migratory birds.

BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Manas Power Supply Company of State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. has invested nearly 10 million yuan to insulate the bare wire power supply lines around the Manas National Wetland Park in Manas County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, so as to provide a safe home for migratory birds.

The Manas National Wetland Park is an important habitat, breeding ground and energy supply station for migratory birds. Millions of migratory birds will stop here to roost or breed offspring every year.

There was a 10kV bare wire power supply line running across the park before May 2020. It had seen birds injured or killed by electric shock every year which is easy to cause short circuits and power outages of the power supply line and affect the production and daily life of the masses.

To change the situation, Manas Power Supply Company invested close to 10 million yuan and used two years to remove the bare wire power supply line in the park, build a 10kV insulated wire power supply line of 7.7 kilometers, and carry out insulation modification on the 4.2-kilometer bare wire power supply line around the park, providing a safe home for migratory birds.
