BEIJING, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Staff members of State Grid Fujian Electric Power Company recently carried out a special patrol of the shore power facilities and power supply equipment of Ronggang Port in Fuqing City, southeast China's Fujian Province, aiming to ensure the safety and stability of power supply of the port.

Aiming to help the construction of green ports, State Grid Fujian Electric Power Company took the initiative to visit dock enterprises, understand their demand for electricity, put forward the energy alternative model of "electricity instead of oil", and provide high-quality electricity service.

From temporary electricity consumption, office electricity consumption to official port electricity consumption, the company actively guides customers in electrical design and drawing review, and shortens the electricity handling process in a reasonable way.

Ronggang Port was constructed with a 50,000-tonne container berth and a 70,000-tonne container berth, equipped with six sets of shore equipment, 11 sets of yard machinery and equipment and two sets of shore electrical interfaces.

During port call, ships use shore power instead of traditional diesel power generation. It is learned that using electricity instead of oil not only saves energy expenditure for ships, but also reduces air pollutant emissions from the source, which is an effective measure to improve urban air quality and build a green ecological port.

It is estimated that berthing ships using high-voltage shore power can save 300 tonnes of fuel and reduce air emissions by 30 tonnes per berth annually on average. In addition, State Grid Fujian Electric Power Company also provides technical guidance on dock storage photovoltaic construction projects, and 20 megawatts of photovoltaic will be built in the next two years, which is expected to save 4.2 million yuan in annual electricity costs.

In the future, State Grid Fujian Electric Power Company will deepen the all-round service mechanism for customers, actively advocate a new model of energy consumption, comprehensively improve energy utilization efficiency, promote green, circular and low-carbon development, and empower urban green development.
