BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- When its workers reminded staffs of a local glass manufacturer of regular cleanup of solar panels on Tuesday, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company witnessed again how distributed solar PV helped local businesses achieve green development.
With roofs of factory buildings covered with plenty of solar panels, staffs of Chongqing Wansheng Fuyao Glass Co., Ltd. were informed of more daily maintenance notices for higher power generation efficiency of its distributed solar PV project.
To further cut energy costs, the Chongqing-based glass manufacturer built under guidance of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power a distributed solar PV project on roofs of its factory buildings covering a total area of about 190,000 square meters.
Since 2022 when the project entered into operation, the company has been capable of producing 16 million kWh of electricity annually. Equal to saving 40 million tonnes of standard coal, the clean electricity output helps the company reduce 102 million tonnes of yearly carbon dioxide emissions.
Its green energy supply and consumption is a typical miniature of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power's facilitation to local businesses eager to deepen green transformation and contribute more to the dual carbon goals of China.

In recent years, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power has been delving into the client end to help them optimize distributed power supplies and build energy storage projects to improve their energy supply and consumption efficiency for greener development.
For instance, digital maps for distributed power sources were created by State Grid Chongqing Electric Power to turn related power distribution capacities visible and enable intelligent selection of access locations.
Moreover, a full-process tracking mechanism for connecting distributed power sources with related power grids has also been developed to ensure "simultaneous planning, construction and operation" with distributed power source projects to further boost energy costs reduction and power supply.
In future, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power will make more efforts to disseminate benefits of distributed power supplies and improve energy efficiency diagnosis services to better serve high-quality development of Chongqing businesses.
