BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- On May 18, 14 families from abroad joined a special event in Jiading District of east China's Shanghai. The event, which had an international flair and combined elements of competition with tourism, allowed these families to fully experience and appreciate the distinctive allure of Jiading, reported Jiading District's official Wechat account.

The first stop of the activity was Da Lai Time Museum, a collection of wonderful antique clocks. With the guidance of Brendan, director of the museum, the foreign families saw the oldest clock of the museum and heard the historical stories of machines and clocks.
Amine from Algeria hailed the experience, saying that it is really considerate to arrange English tour for these foreign families.
Suchit from Indonesia was amazed at the wisdom of ancient Chinese when he saw Rigui, a Chinese stone sundial.
The second stop of the activity was at the Shanghai International Circuit. They experienced the sport of karting and raced to win prizes.
These foreign families have fallen in love with the district through this experience, shouting "WE LOVE SHANGHAI! WE LOVE JIADING!" in a wonderful sunset.
