BEIJING, May 15 (Xinhua) -- More types of agricultural products from Europe have been permitted to enter the Chinese market, the General Administration of Customs said on Wednesday.
Pork from the Netherlands, prunes and fresh blueberries from Serbia, and fresh cherries from Hungary have been allowed to be exported to China on the condition that they meet the country's quarantine and health requirements, the administration said.
Agricultural and food products have become an important area of China-Europe economic and trade cooperation.
In 2023, China and the European Union (EU) were each other's second-largest trading partner, according to a recent report from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
Last year, China was the largest partner for EU imports of goods and the EU's third-largest export market, while the EU was China's second-largest source of imports and second-largest export market, the report said.
