BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhua) -- When "China chic" becomes an increasingly trendy style, 50 Chinese brands unveiled at the 2024 China Brand Day gala attested again to the appeal of made-in-China products.
On Friday, Huawei, DJI, TikTok, Wuliangye, Pien Tze Huang, Haitian, ChaCha, Mengniu, Zeekr, MG of SAIC Motor, BYD, Haier and other brands approached the public in Shanghai as this year's most-favored Chinese brands for foreign consumers thanks to their globally-applauded quality and presence.
Among China's "going global" brands, the 50 Chinese brands were chosen out of criteria of four aspects including online votes, export volume of their products, overseas presence via media and other dissemination channels and expert appraisal.
The final ones selected into the top 50 brands list cover household names in eight sectors including 3C products manufacturing, entertainment and network, food and beverage, cosmetics, and automobile industry in China.
Among them, Huawei, DJI, Xiaomi and other sci-tech-driven enterprises are spotted in light of their technological competence and market performance and TikTok, Kuaishou, Didi and other reputed Chinese internet companies are also in sight due to their excellent product performance.
With more influential branding in global market, Chinese baijiu producer Wuliangye won the most votes among all liquor makers that participated in this year's selection and stands as always for growing acceptance for Chinese culture-characterized products by global consumers.
Zeekr, a typical representative for "going global" auto brands in China, was picked as one of this year's most-favored Chinese auto brands by foreigners, presenting itself as a vivid example for how Chinese auto makers have contributed to worldwide auto industry development and transformation through both products and technology exporting in recent years.
Pien Tze Huang, a time-honored Chinese brand, entered as one of the most-favored Chinese cosmetics and personal care brands for foreigners. Recent years, the company famed for well-established traditional medicine with beneficial effects rode the tide of "going global" among Chinese enterprises and renewed its growth vitality by delving into product innovation and branding.
These homegrown brands are expected to go further in future amid their dedicated efforts to expand global presence and foreign knowledge about China's homegrown brands.
This year, the selection activity for the most-favored Chinese brands for foreigners, an event held annually to foster branding of made-in-China products, was mainly organized by the National Brands Project office of Xinhua News Agency and China Economic Information Service.
