Chen made the remarks at the just-concluded China-Serbia media and think tank forum and launching ceremony of the Serbian version of the report "Fostering a Global Community of Shared Future: Contemporary Significance and Tangible Achievements", which was held on Tuesday in Belgrade, Serbia.
In recent years, PowerChina has been deeply involved in the construction of major infrastructure projects in Serbia, such as the Belgrade belt highway and the Belgrade metro project, said Chen.
It is learned that PowerChina has established six regional headquarters around the world, among which the Eurasian regional headquarters with business operation across 63 countries is located in Belgrade.
Since its entry into the Serbian market in 2012, PowerChina has carried out more than 23 projects in Serbia, becoming one of the largest and most influential Chinese enterprises in the country.
In addition, the company has also vigorously promoted the implementation of new energy projects in the country, Chen noted.
Undertaken by PowerChina, the construction of Saraorci photovoltaic project in Serbia is about to be completed soon.
The project marked an important milestone for the company's participation in the development of new energy in Serbia. Upon completion, the project is expected to provide over 16 million kWh of green electricity for about 2,500 local households annually and help Serbia reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 16,000 tonnes.
Over the past years, PowerChina has also made great efforts to employ and train a large number of local people, providing them with a broad platform for career development, said Chen, adding that meanwhile, the company has endeavored to integrate with the local community and advance the concept of ESG (environmental, social, and governance).
It is reported that PowerChina ranked 6th and 8th, respectively, on the 2023 lists of the global top 250 contractors and the international top 250 contractors rankings, which were published by the renowned American magazine Engineering News-Record (ENR).
As a leader in the fields of clean and low-carbon energy, water resources and environmental construction, PowerChina is committed to providing integrated energy solutions for the entire industry chain and strives to become a world-class and globally competitive enterprise.
