BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhua) -- The Thematic Forum on China-Hungary Belt and Road Pragmatic Cooperation will be held on May 2 in Budapest, capital of Hungary.
About 200 participants, including those from government departments, enterprises and financial institutions of China and Hungary, as well as related experts and scholars, will gather at the forum to have in-depth discussions on the theme of leading the cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries and sharing development opportunities.
The Thematic Forum on China-Hungary Belt and Road Pragmatic Cooperation will be held on May 2 in Budapest, capital of Hungary.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary. Meanwhile, Hungary is the first European country to sign an intergovernmental cooperation document with China on Belt and Road Cooperation, and firmly supports the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The forum will be a booster for sharing development opportunities and cooperation outcomes between China and Hungary, and improving the cooperation between China and Hungary, China and Central and Eastern European countries, according to guests invited to attend the forum.

As Hungary's "Opening to the East" policy has been deeply aligning with the BRI, cooperation between the two sides in areas such as infrastructure construction, economy and trade, and cultural exchanges has continued to heat up in recent years, with fruitful results achieved, bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples.
Multiple bilateral pragmatic cooperation results under the BRI will be officially released at the forum, involving economic information exchange, vocational education, cultural exchange, etc.

The Belt and Road Economic Information Partnership (BREIP) initiated by Xinhua News Agency in June 2019 to break information barriers and promote global economic information connectivity will officially open the East Europe liaison office at the forum.
It is learned that the BREIP has developed 61 member institutions in 37 countries and regions, and Hungary has seen five renowned institutions joining the BREIP, including ATV Zrt., a media group, becoming the country with the largest number of BREIP member institutions in Europe.
The Thematic Forum on China-Hungary Belt and Road Pragmatic Cooperation is organized by Xinhua News Agency and ATV Zrt., and co-organized by China Economic Information Service and the Europe Bureau of Xinhua News Agency, with the guidance of the State Council Information Office.
