HARBIN, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province saw its foreign trade of goods reach 79.7 billion yuan (about 11.2 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, up 10.3 percent year on year, said Harbin Customs on Monday.
Of the total, the province's export volume of goods totaled 21.88 billion yuan, soaring 52 percent year on year, while its import volume of goods reached 57.82 billion yuan.
Heilongjiang's trade with Belt and Road partner countries reached 68.15 billion yuan during the period, up 11.1 percent year on year and accounting 85.5 percent of the province's total, according to the customs authorities.
Notably, the province exported mechanical and electrical products worth 9.16 billion yuan during the first three months of 2024, up 75.5 percent year on year.
Among the exports, passenger cars, automatic data processing equipment and its parts, and household appliances reported year-on-year increases of 46 percent, 285.7 percent and 233.5 percent, respectively.
