BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese regulators issued recently a circular to further optimize payment services at key cultural and tourism venues to better serve the diverse payment service demands in cultural and tourism sectors, reported Xinhua Finance on Tuesday.
They, namely the People's Bank of China, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) and National Cultural Heritage Administration, required in the circular related local departments and branches to refine measures for improving acceptance environment for domestic and foreign bankcards, cash using environment, mobile payment facilitation, etc, to jointly optimize payment facilitation in cultural and tourism sectors.
For instance, national 5A-level and 4A-level scenic zones, national- and provincial-level tourism resorts, national-level tourism and leisure blocks, etc. are required in the circular to realize full coverage of domestic and foreign bankcard acceptance.
Establishing foreign currency exchange service outlets at cultural and tourism venues with a relatively large number of foreign visitors are also pledged to be actively advanced in the circular.
Moreover, improving mobile payment services, optimizing related business procedures, enriching product functions and increasing online and offline mobile payment convenience at cultural and tourism venues are also mentioned in the circular.
