BEIJING, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The cruise ship "Mein Schiff" carrying more than 2,500 passengers arrived at Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal in east China's Shanghai on Saturday, reported Shanghai Securities News.
Since the launch of the inbound tourism activity namely "Visit Shanghai" on December 11, 2023, the city has been building itself into the first stop for foreign tourists in their visit to China.
Shanghai has seen a steady increase in the number of foreign tourists since the beginning of this year, highlighted by the recovery of inbound cruise tourism. In the first quarter of this year, Shanghai has received a total of ten cruise ships carrying 22,379 passengers.
It is estimated that 18 cruise ships carrying 40,306 passengers will received by the city throughout the year.
