BEIJING, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Jiangning District of Nanjing, east China's Jiangsu Province, held a series of investment promotion activities in Sweden and the Republic of Korea (ROK) from March 17 to 24.
The aim of the investment promotion activities is to introduce Jiangning District's latest efforts on optimizing investment environment and extending economic and trade cooperation with overseas enterprises and institutions.
It is learned that about nine foreign-funded projects with a total investment of 1.767 billion U.S. dollars were clinched during the promotion activities.
The district sent a delegation led by Jiangning's Party chief Lin Tao on this 8-day business trip. The delegation visited four cities including Stockholm, Gothenburg, Seoul, and Chungju, held two investment promotion events, and visited 23 well-known companies including Polestar, Volvo Cars, and LG Electronic, universities, as well as R&D institutions in Sweden and the ROK.
During the trip, the delegation reached cooperation agreements or cooperation intentions with a number of companies. Among them, LG Energy Solution announced that it will increase investment in its production projects in Jiangning, covering such fields as power batteries and energy storage batteries.
Besides, the Seoul Business Agency, on behalf of the Seoul metropolitan government, on March 22 signed a cooperation intention with the government of Jiangning District to jointly set up a collaborative innovation channel between Seoul and Jiangning.
