The students paid a visit to Caowa Bazaar in Linshu County, Linyi, where they tasted local delicacies and appreciated intangible cultural heritage items. After exploring the Bazaar, they went to the Nishan Academy, located in Linshu County's Cultural Center, where they changed into Traditional Chinese Hanfu and learned to handcraft fish-shaped lanterns, another intangible cultural heritage item. In addition, they received instructions in writing Spring Festival couplets.
This event not only provided international students with the opportunity to experience firsthand traditions and customs in Linshu County, but also deepened their understanding of traditional Chinese culture, so that they can better identify with the Chinese culture as a whole.
"Today, I had a taste of the Chinese New Year and traditional Chinese culture, and I am really happy for that. I hope to come back here one day," said Munir, one of the international students.
