BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- In recent years, Linshu County of east China's Shandong province has vigorously supported blueberry industry development and initially formed a relatively complete industrial chain including large-scale planting, leisure picking, intensive processing, brand marketing and etc., which greatly fostered rural vitalization.

Daxing Town in Linshu County has innovated blueberry planting after more than 10 years of exploration and development. Based on characteristics of the local climate and land, the town carried out early, medium and late maturing varieties of blueberry, making the fresh blueberry picking period last for more than 3 months.

Currently, the blueberry planting area in Daxing Town covers more than 20,000 mu(around 1,333.33 hectares). A total of 7 blueberry planting standardization production bases have been built, while more than 30 blueberry planting and production cooperatives and family farms settled down here. The town owns 11 registered trademarks which have been granted the national certification, and Linshu Blueberry has been awarded the national famous and excellent new agricultural product certificate.

It is learned that in order to promote the sustainable and healthy development of blueberry industry, Linshu County has established a blueberry industry chain community to carry out upstream and downstream interactive cooperation. Linshu has developed a series of deep-processed products such as juice, fruit wine, and blueberry lutein, among which the annual processing capacity of Lanze brand blueberry wine has reached more than 3,000 tonnes, highly improved the added value of the blueberry industry.

In addition, taking the blueberry picking season as an opportunity, Linshu County has held blueberry tourism and cultural festival for 7 consecutive years, which has driven local cultural tourism development.
