BEIJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Arbitration Commission(SHAC) has released English version of expert evaluation guideline(2023) on green disputes at a global seminar held in Dubai recently.
It is learned that in May this year, SHAC issued Chinese version of expert evaluation guidelines (2023) on green disputes, which is an innovative move by Chinese dispute resolution institution to explore high-quality and sustainable development.
The seminar attracted representatives from well-known enterprises as well as legal, consulting and other professional service institutions in the Middle East, North Africa and China to participate in, providing a valuable communication platform for the guests.
During the seminar, SHAC conducted in-depth discussions with legal experts from world-renowned law firms in the roundtable meeting.
Dr. Mingchao Fan, Executive Vice President of SHAC, said in his keynote speech that in order to comply with the opportunities and challenges brought about by the green transformation in the context of China's carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, SHAC is committed to providing a diversified and complex flexible dispute resolution mechanism, helping market players optimize their governance models, actively explores new ways to apply green concepts and technologies.
"This year coincides with COP28 in Dubai, and we are very much looking forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with friends from China's legal and practical circles to jointly address the challenges brought about by climate change," David Holloway, partner of Al Tamimi & Co, a well-known law firm in the Middle East, said in his welcome speech.
