BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Qingyun County in east China's Shandong is going through a period of fast development of green industrial chain with nearly 30 lithium battery-related projects involving five billion yuan of investment settling in the small county since March 2022.
The projects include ones on battery materials, battery cells, packs, and application, cascade utilization and recycling of batteries.
When probing into its attractiveness to lithium battery-related enterprises, Qingyun County may attribute their intensive settlement to its gratifying business environment for green and new energy industries.
Boasting seven wind farms, 2,078 rooftop distributed PV power generation programs and 716.3 megawatts of new energy installed capacity, Qingyun County embraced in the past months of this year 594 million kWh of new energy electricity output, which exceeded its social electricity consumption of the same period.
The county is also home to large nanometre conducive addictive producers and the only enterprise listed on the power battery recycling and utilization white list of Shandong Province, having a complete industrial chain in lithium battery sector.
With lithium battery industry as a pillar, Qingyun County steps up its pace in cultivating the green industry.
By strengthening top-level design, compiling industry development plans, implementing new energy industry cultivation plans, and establishing its goal of achieving 20 billion yuan of output value for lithium battery industry, the county is dedicated to building itself into a smart manufacturing highland in green and new energy sector.
To further enable development of local new energy industry, Qingyun County plans to build a new energy industrial park and cranks up efforts to introduce more lithium-ion battery, conducive addictive, energy storage and related core parts businesses.
With an industrial development fund established, the country is encouraging companies there to cooperate with scientific research institutions to break technological and talent bottlenecks. The local government also visits on a regular basis local enterprises to help them solve problems and grow bigger.
