Three innovative companies have been honored as "Hessen Champions" during the so-called Entrepreneur Day. They are shining examples of the economy in the western German state of Hesse, acknowledged the state's Minister of Economics Tarek Al-Wazir. "In order to maintain our prosperity, we must remain competitive and innovative while resolutely tackling the economic shift toward sustainability and climate friendliness," Al-Wazir said at the awards ceremony in the state capital of Wiesbaden, according to a statement.
The winner in the global market leader category was Microbox GmbH from Bad Nauheim, which manufactures high-performance scanners for digitalizing cultural assets. Nine of the world's 10 largest libraries are reported to use equipment made by the company in central Hesse.
Limtronik GmbH from Limburg, which builds electronic assemblies and control cabinets, was honored in the category of jobs creation. The jury praised the company for its flat hierarchies and transparent management.
In the innovation category, the jury chose Etalytics GmbH from Darmstadt, whose applications can be used to optimize industrial energy systems.
The competition, which is organized annually by the Association of Hessian Business Associations (VhU), saw 62 entries from 54 companies.
