BEIJING, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) --Tancheng County in east China's Shandong has spared no effort in boosting erhu industry development in recent years as a driving force to build it into a leading erhu production base in China.
Erhu is a traditional musical instrument widely used in China.
It is learned that in order to promote steady advancement of erhu production industry, the county has released a batch of preferential policies and enlarged support for erhu industry in financing and service. An erhu museum and an erhu exhibition hall were built inTancheng, and an erhu E-commerce industrial park is planned to be constructed, making erhu from just a musical instrument to now an advantageous industry.
Currently, erhu production in Tancheng covers 5 surrounding towns and more than 30 villages, with employed person engaging in the industry exceeding 20,000 . The county sees an annual output of more than 300, 000 erhu, valuing around 400 million yuan. The production and sales of erhu here account for more than 50 percent of China.
Notably, in order to enhance its brand influence, Tancheng County actively organized local manufacturers to participate in trade fairs held in Beijing, Shanghai and other places.Through Internet plus intangible cultural heritage plus industrial development model, the county has launched more than 60 online sales stores in platforms like Taobao, Kuaishou, Douyin and etc., which effectively expanded the sales share of erhu at home and abroad as well as improved income of residents.
