BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- On the World Migratory Bird Day this year, which fell on October 14, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company held a volunteer service event jointly with the Chongqing Luhai International Communication Foundation and the Chongqing International Culture Association, in a bid to create a better habitat environment for birds and help conserve biodiversity.
Eleven volunteers from the company and 30 socially-recruited volunteers went to the Jinyun Mountain in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality to pick up garbage and purify the living environment of birds.

The volunteers from State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company explained knowledge about green concepts and bird protection and rescue to local citizens, and guide them to raise awareness of protecting rare birds, actively take part in escorting the migration of birds, and jointly create a better habitat environment for birds.
The volunteers also provided explanations on issues such as electricity safety that the citizens are concerned about, and called on people to develop a concept of loving nature, protecting the ecology, living a low-carbon life, and promoting the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature and the harmonious development of bird protection and power grids.

In recent years, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company have actively partipate in multiple volunteer service events carried out in Chongqing with the aim to protect bird habitats, biodiversity, etc.
The power towers are important "gas stations" for birds to habitat, rest on and breed. The "migratory bird lifeline" protection project of State Grid has been ongoing for ten years.
In 2023, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company launched a migratory bird protection project, targeting the areas through which 500 kV transmission lines pass to carry out research on bird habits and bird activity warning technology, develop ecological bird nest devices, guide birds to build nests in safe areas, and cooperate with relevant authorities to protect birds scientifically.
