BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- The China-Russia baseball friendship tournament was held recently in Lingang District of Weihai City, east China's Shandong Province.
The baseball tournament brought together youth players from the two countries to compete with each other, showing the high level of baseball skills and noble teamwork spirit.
The 9-day sport event marked that Shandong has taken the lead to celebrate the 2022-2023 years of sports exchanges between China and Russia.
Xiu Zhentao, chairman of Shandong Small Ball Sports Federation, expressed the hope that the event will further promote the development of sports and deepen the friendship between the two peoples.
In recent years, Lingang District has taken baseball, softball, ice hockey and other emerging sports as major focuses to continuously promote the development of the sports industry, made great progress in such areas as baseball and softball infrastructure supporting, team building, professional operation, etc., and held more than 100 domestic and foreign sports brand events.
