BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee announced Thursday that the first China (Suzhou) International Biomedical Industry Expo will be held from November 22 to 24 in Suzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province, with the aim to find new models and engines for the development of the biomedical industry.
More than 500 domestic and foreign companies in fields like bio-pharmaceuticals, medical devices and pharmaceutical services will participate in the expo, and the number of participants is expected to exceed 20,000.
The expo will hold a main forum themed on building a high-quality development ecosystem for the biomedical industry, and multiple sub-forums, inviting government officials, representatives from relevant industry associations, medical institutions and commercial insurance institutions, as well as relevant scholars and experts to share ideas on topics like technological innovation, overseas development, etc.

The Suzhou Industrial Park has spent 17 years to grow the biomedical industry into Suzhou's leading industry. The park focuses on new drug research and industrialization, with an output value of 136.8 billion yuan in 2022, and gathers more than 2,300 relevant companies.
The park's number of innovative leading enterprises, scale of innovative talents, number of clinical approvals for biological innovative drugs, total production capacity of biological macromolecular drugs, and total amount of enterprise financing all account for over 20 percent of the national total. Its comprehensive competitiveness of biopharmaceuticals is among the best ones nationwide.
