BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- China's digital publishing industry showed strong growth in 2022, with total revenue hitting 13586.99 billion yuan, an increase of 6.46 percent from the previous year, People's Daily reported.
Traditional newspapers and magazines' digital revenues are on the rise. In 2022, the total revenue of internet periodicals, e-books, and digital newspapers reached 10.491 billion yuan, an increase of 3.7 percent compared to 101.17 billion yuan in 2021.
Emerging sectors in the digital publishing industry show positive growth momentum. The revenue of online education sector and network animation sector amounted to 2620 billion yuan and 33.094 billion yuan in 2022 respectively.
By the end of 2022, China's online literature had exported more than 16,000 works overseas, including more than 6,400 authorized physical books and more than 9,600 online translated works, and the overseas market of online literature had exceeded 3 billion yuan.
Currently, digital humans have initially been applied in various fields and scenarios such as digital reading, digital music, news broadcasting, live streaming, digital culture and tourism, showing good development momentum.
In the future, digital humans will become an important link in the IP industry chain, further releasing the value of digital copyrights, and providing more possibilities for the innovative development of the digital content industry.
