BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Second Conference of the Belt and Road Economic Information Partnership and 2023 Shanghai Entrepreneurs Conference for the Belt and Road High-quality Development will be held in Shanghai on Wednesday.
Representatives from the Asia-Pacific countries, Europe and other regions will participate in the conference to summarize experience and exchange views about the potential fields and trends of cooperation to better contribute to building the Belt and Road of higher quality.
Since it was proposed in 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has become a broadly welcomed global public good and an international cooperation platform with jointly-shared benefits and fruitful results.
Shanghai, based on its functional advantages in construction of "five centers", has poured continuous efforts into crafting itself into a forerunner and exemplar of Belt and Road construction by integrating related high-quality development into its work of forging a central node of domestic circulation and boosting "dual circulation".
High-quality economic information is always a necessary guarantee for transnational economic exchanges and corporation. In June 2019, Xinhua News Agency initiated the Belt and Road Economic Information Partnership (BREIP) and convened in Beijing the inaugural meeting for BREIP members.
Currently, BREIP has registered 56 members from 37 countries and regions around the world, including news agencies, information providers, research institutions, and business associations.
On Wednesday, the Second Conference of the BREIP will witness a batch of new friends joining the BREIP to further broaden the circle of information sharing.
A series of latest achievements in Belt and Road construction will approach the public, including inauguration of Shanghai liaison office of BREIP, an application to provide investment and trade related business dealing, market information, corporate training, law and other services for companies, and a program to promote multilateral or bilateral cooperation of BREIP members.
The conference, co-organized by Xinhua News Agency and Shanghai Municipal People's Government, sets three thematic forums to inspire sights over the role of finance in BRI long-term stability, prompting BRI green development and BRI legal service and compliance management.
With the theme of "Extensive Consultation, Joint Contribution and Shared Prosperity, Embark on a New Journey", the conference will be hosted by the Shanghai branch of Xinhua News Agency, China Economic Information Service and Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade with media support from the Belt and Road Portal and Xinhua Silk Road.
