BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese unicorn enterprise Greater Bay Technology(GBT), a company specializing in the development of fast-charging batteries for electric vehicles recently claimed that the first professional ultra-fast charging battery factory will be put into operation in Nansha, Guangzhou of southern China's Guangdong province, reported Guangzhou Daily.
The plant will be the first specialized factory for ultra-fast charging batteries, and it is expected to start production soon, said Pei Feng, President of GBT.
Established in September 2020, GBT is the first privately held mixed-ownership high-tech enterprise incubated by GAC Group. In May 2022, the company built its headquarter base and first production base in Nansha of Guangzhou, with a planned production capacity of 8 gigawatt hours (GWh) per year.
"Thanks to Guangzhou's policy support and industrial ecological advantages, GBT can quickly grow into a unicorn enterprise," added Pei Feng. In April 2022, GBT together with other industry partners launched a plan to help build Guangzhou into "City of Super Fast Charging".
