The bilingual pages aim to facilitate the flow of information on agricultural cooperation between China and Belt and Road partners, and to build a platform to pool resources for international agricultural cooperation. Both of the pages consist of seven sections: Focus, Forum, Projects, Cases, Insights, Videos and Photos, with a focus on enhancing capabilities in terms of international communication. Among these sections, Projects presents the information of key agricultural projects, and Cases focuses on the typical cases of Belt and Road agricultural cooperation.
Agriculture is a pillar industry and the first and foremost important thing for people's welfare. It is also where China and its Belt and Road partners have great potential for cooperation. Over the past decade since the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China has been working with Belt and Road partners in agricultural policy coordination and has achieved fruitful results.
As the authoritative platform for news release, policy interpretation, information service, and international exchange for the joint contribution to the BRI, the Belt and Road Portal will continue to focus on the hotspot issues of agricultural cooperation under the BRI, and explore paths of sustainable development in this field, according to the person in charge of the Portal.
The event is held by Department of International Cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) together with China Economic Information Service (CEIS) and Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), under the guidance of the MARA and Xinhua News Agency. Organizers of the forum include the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center, MARA and the China Society of Foreign Agricultural Economy. A large number of government officials, agricultural experts, business representatives, and journalists from more than 20 Belt and Road participating countries attended the event and shared their observations.
