BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- When the opening ceremony of the Second Hunan Tourism Development Conference commenced at the night of last Saturday, State Grid Hunan Electric Power Co., Ltd.'s power supply staffs were helping ensure the splendid debut of the event with resilient and reliable power supply.
Dedicated to bringing more beauty of Chenzhou, a city in central China's Hunan where the conference was convened, to the world, the company required its local branch - State Grid Chenzhou Power Supply Company to deploy nine generators, 28 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices and 21 power supply vehicles around the venues of the conference to secure smooth power supply around the clock.
At important venues such as the Feitian Mountain Live-action Performance Center and Shimu hot spring international meeting center, State Grid Chenzhou Power Supply Company established dual-power feeds and realized automatic operation of standby UPS devices to secure their power supply.
For instance, in the Feitian Mountain Live-action Performance Center where the opening ceremony was held, there are 117 switches within the 24 power distribution boxes and staging the conference with perfect presentation required dependable functioning of every switch, which corresponds to different lights, stereos, and display screens, introduced Yuan Lin, head of the power supply guarantee work with State Grid Chenzhou Power Supply Company.
Since September 8, the State Grid Chenzhou Power Supply Company has arranged power supply staffs to put on duty at related venues to secure normal power supply and State Grid Hunan Electric Power allocated emergency power vehicles and generators to achieve senseless shift of power sources in emergency situations for the Feitian Mountain Live-action Performance Center.
Apart from the opening ceremony, the State Grid Chenzhou Power Supply Company arranged in total 19 power supply work groups comprised of over 500 people to patrol around and check about operation of related power lines and equipment.
