BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Homestays in Qingzhou City, east China's Shandong Province, have gained popularity recently.
Data showed that from January to August this year, 53 boutique homestays in Qingzhou received a total of 125,000 tourists and achieved income of 23 million yuan.
Qingzhou is a place with particular natural scenery and ancient city culture, which nurtures unique humanity and natural environment and lifestyle, and the local dwellings are typical reflections of such characteristics.
Homestays in Qingzhou show distinctive interiors with local cultural characteristics. The city integrated unique cultural elements of its ancient city and ancient village into the appearance style and functional layout design of the homestays, and created a unique Qingzhou brand.
Meanwhile, more trendy outdoor camping has also landed in Qingzhou, providing a variety of fun for tourists to stay overnight. Car camping, mountain camping, landscape camping, a variety of accommodation choices give tourists a sense of atmosphere for leisure vacation, and also reasons to stay in Qingzhou.
In recent years, the cultural tourism industry has been the leading industry in Qingzhou. Thanks to its convenient transportation, Qingzhou has become an important tourist transit station for tourists from all over the country.
According to statistics, since the beginning of this year, Qingzhou has received a total of 6.7 million tourists, with overnight tourists accounting for 23.6 percent. The continuous expansion of the scale and depth of Qingzhou's tourism market leads to the incremental improvement of the quality of its homestays.
