BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- China's clean energy equipment sector shows a promising prospect with rapid development of new energy industry in the country, reported the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News.
The market demand for China's clean energy equipment is estimated to increase by over two trillion yuan by the end of the 14th Five-year Plan period (2021-2025), driven by the increase in the installed capacity of clean energy.
The newly installed clean energy capacity in China is expected to exceed 700 million kilowatts by 2025, bringing the country's total installed capacity to 3.02 billion kilowatts.
Energy storage, energy digitization, intelligent development of clean energy, and hydrogen energy sectors have potential for explosive growth in the next five years, according to a blue book on the development of global clean energy equipment industry released on August 26 at the World Conference on Clean Energy Equipment 2023 held in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
China's clean energy transformation has achieved remarkable results. By the end of 2022, the total installed capacity of clean energy in China accounted for 50 percent of the total installed power generation capacity of 2.56 billion kilowatts, Shu Yinbiao, president of the International Electrotechnical Committee said at the conference.
Meanwhile, China's investment in new energy projects accounted for over 30 percent of the world's total, with the installed capacity of hydropower, wind power, solar power, and nuclear power under construction topping the world, according to Shu.
