BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Sumec Engineering affiliated to the Chinese modern manufacturing service company Sumec Corporation Limited (Sumec, 600710.SH) recently signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 137MWac solar power project with AboitizPower, a leading provider of renewable energy in the Philippines, reported the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News.
The project is located in Calatrava city in Negros Occidental province of the Philippines, covering a total area of 143 hectares. Once operational, it is expected to export 270 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually to local power grid.
The project is the fifth EPC contracted solar power project of Sumec Engineering in the Philippines.
Dedicated to expanding its footprint in the Philippines, Sumec has undertaken solar and wind power projects of over 650MW in the country. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
