BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Baotou Iron and Steel group (Baogang), a major steel producer in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has signed a contract for the export of its high-grade pipeline steel recently.
The contracted product, X70M hot-rolled coil, will be sent to Saudi Arabia and used for oil and natural gas transportation after processing.
In recent years, Baogang has continuously optimized the product structure to expand the market in countries along the routes of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), with pipeline steel as the main export product. Among them, the Middle East market becomes one of the key sales areas.
The order has strict requirements on impact toughness, fracture toughness, hardness and purity of the products. Baogang has optimized its process of steel production and improve the product quality to meet the purchaser's requests.
The company's rare earth steel plate factory has produced 37,000 tonnes of contracted products to be delivered to users.
