DHAKA, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- The International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 trophy was displayed at the Chinese-constructed Padma Bridge in Bangladesh on Monday, following its arrival in Dhaka on Sunday evening.
Starting June 27, the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Trophy will visit 18 countries and regions, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, the U.S., Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, and the host nation, India.
The 2023 World Cup is set to take place in India this October and November.
On the inaugural day of the tour, the official photoshoot for the ICC World Cup trophy in Bangladesh was held at the service area of the Padma Bridge. This architectural marvel spans the mighty Padma River, connecting the northeastern and southwestern regions of Bangladesh. It also plays a crucial role in the proposed trans-Asian railway network.
Spanning 6.15 km, the bridge's construction was spearheaded by the China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co, Ltd. and it was inaugurated for traffic in June of the previous year.
It stands as the most significant and challenging infrastructure feat in the annals of Bangladesh.
