BEIJING, July 16 (Xinhua) -- China's futures market posted strong year-on-year growth in both transaction volume and turnover in the first half of 2023, according to the China Futures Association.
The trading volume surged by 29.71 percent year on year to over 3.95 billion lots in the January-June period, bringing the total turnover to 262.13 trillion yuan (about 36.76 trillion U.S. dollars) in the period, the data showed.
China's futures market was relatively active in the first half of the year, thanks to a recovery of the economy and the orderly development of production and operation of enterprises, said Jiang Hongyan with Yinhe Futures.
As of the end of June 2023, 115 futures and options products were listed on the Chinese futures market, data from the association showed.
