BEIJING, July 3 (Xinhua) -- From June 30 to July 2, the 8th Western China Tourism Industry Expo (WCTIE) unfolded at the Chongqing International Expo Center with a theme of "Integration of Culture and Tourism for a Better Life".
Fengjie, a county in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, promoted its abundant tourism resources at the WCTIE to further shine the tourism brand of "Fengjie: Top of Three Gorges, A Place of Poetry and Orange" with online and offline efforts.
Fengjie, historically known as Kuizhou, is a jewel on the golden tourism belt of the Three Gorges. The region is most renowned for the following: "Baidi City - Qutang Gorge", the 5A scenic area; Kuimen (which literally means kui gate), a gate to spectacular landscape; Longqiao River, the world's longest underground river; Baidi City, a millennium-old place; its reputation as "A Place of Poetry" in China, and its well-known fruit "Fengjie Orange". All these epitomize the captivating fusion of natural beauty and human ingenuity.
Currently, Fengjie boasts a convenient transportation system, providing various mobility choices, including high-speed rail, airport, highways, and Yangtze River waterways. The recent inauguration of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway considerably shortens travel times from Fengjie to major cities such as Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, and Beijing.

Various events were held, including on-site exhibitions, showcasing of distinctive cultural tourism activities, so as to promote Fengjie's cultural tourism resources and present the charm of the county. Moreover, the exhibit is a perfect mix of Fengjie's characteristic elements, such as poetry, high-speed railway, orange, and beautiful scenery.
An additional highlight of the exhibition is a collection of Fengjie's rural tourism routes, which themed "Escape the Bustle and Savour the Countryside". Compiled into a booklet by the organizing committee, it was made available at the venue, while a video version was presented on the mini-program of the Expo.
