BEIJING, June 27 (Xinhua) -- A special train for agricultural products export, linking Zhengzhou and Vietnam, departed from Zhengzhou on Monday, marking the first cold chain international train for agricultural products export launched in central China's Henan Province.
It is learned the train is bounded for Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam, transporting six containers of garlic and 29 containers of onions, with a total value of 3.6 million yuan.
Henan is the main producing area of agricultural and sideline products in China, and it is also China's largest terminal market and distribution center for fruits imported from ASEAN. Henan will continue to operate the ASEAN-bounded cargo train on a regular basis, and transport more Henan products to ASEAN countries and bring more ASEAN fruits into Zhengzhou, said relevant person in charge of local supply chain management company.
Operation of this train marks that the categories of Zhengzhou-ASEAN freight trains are enriched, and the construction of the demonstration project of Zhengzhou China-Europe freight train assembly center has achieved great progress, said Zhang Bo, director of the administrative committee of Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone.
