BEIJING, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The first customer-side photovoltaic (PV) storage and charging integration project in east China's Hunan Province, Suntown Science and Technology Industrial Park PV storage and charging integration project, was completed and went through acceptance on June 15, which is also the first major special demonstration project of science and technology in Hunan, according to State Grid Hunan.

Suntown Science and Technology Industrial Park is the world's leading production base of aluminum profiles. Last year, State Grid Changsha joined in the project after learning that the enterprise of Suntown Technology Group Co., Ltd. has urgent needs to further improve power supply reliability, reduce electricity costs, and save energy and reduce carbon.
In this project, State Grid Hunan Changsha Power Supply Company initiated a service platform model, providing free on-site investigation and technical solutions in the early stage, and participating in investment, construction, management and operation and maintenance throughout the middle and later stages, and enterprises only need to provide suitable sites, truly realizing that enterprises "do not spend a penny" to enjoy "one-stop energy services".
Through six rounds of on-site condition investigation and analysis, the two sides jointly finalized plan for solar storage and charging, using the idle area of the roof of the factory and carport as well asthe vacant land of the factory area to build three major systems of rooftop photovoltaic, energy storage and charging pile.
The overall project investment is 153 million yuan, and the rooftop photovoltaic power generation can be fully consumed after the project is connected to the grid, which alone will reduce the electricity cost of Suntown Technology Group by about 1.8 million yuan and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 12,700 tonnes per year.
Relying on the energy storage system, after the energy storage power station is fully completed, it will basically ensure 2 to 3 hours of uninterrupted production of electricity by Suntown Technology Group during the peak period of electricity consumption, and saves 1.2 million yuan in electricity costs for enterprises every year.
