BEIJING, May 31 (Xinhua) -- The first Belt and Road Smart Farming Forum kicked off on May 26 in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Themed on smart farming technologies, scenarios and solutions, the event invited a total of 300 academicians, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and industrial leaders to share in-depth opinions on smart farming and cutting-edge agricultural artificial intelligence.
The forum aims to analyze the development trend of agricultural digital technology and promote regional collaborative innovation, cooperation and exchange, said Xie Guozheng, deputy head of Xinjiang Agricultural and Rural Mechanization Development Center.
Empowered by innovations in technology, institution and policy, China's agricultural machinery industry has realized a high-quality-development transition and supported the modernization in rural areas, said Chen Tao, vice president of the China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association.
Chen Xuegeng, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, introduced how the construction of unmanned farm helps high-quality development of cotton production in Xinjiang.
Other experts also shared their researches on smart farming, smart agricultural machinery, AI and computing power and future farm model.
The forum is jointly hosted by the Xinjiang Association for Science and Technology, the China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association, and the Xinjiang Agricultural and Rural Mechanization Development Center.
