BEIJING, May 30 (Xinhua) -- A China-Brazil photovoltaic (PV) industry exchange seminar was held recently in east China's Shanghai, aiming to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the PV industry and jointly boost green development, according to information made public by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Monday.

The seminar was jointly organized by the Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation (CIETC) under the MIIT, China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA), and Brazilian association of photovoltaic solar energy (Absolar).

More than 80 enterprises and research institutions from China and Brazil were attracted to participate in the event.

During the seminar, the CIETC, CPIA, and Absolar signed a tripartite cooperation memorandum, marking a step further in the exchange and cooperation between China and Brazil in the PV sector.

China and Brazil are both responsible countries that have made unremitting efforts to cut global emissions. The prospects for bilateral cooperation in the PV sector in the future remains rosy. Establishing a long-term PV industry exchange mechanism between the two sides can better respond to climate change, help advance green development in both countries, and fuel global energy transformation, Chinese and Brazilian representatives said at the seminar.
